Debunking White Privilege - Values Matter

Heavy on my heart in today's economic and political climate is the myth of "White Privilege".
Just to give you an idea of my upbringing, I grew up as a white girl, yes, I am still white, I digress.

Growing up, in Eastern Washington and then in my teens in Western Washington, two totally different economic and political climates. Currently I live in Florida, thank goodness, as I still have family in Washington State, but that's a story for another post {stepping off soapbox}.  I was not impoverished in my childhood, that said, I did not live in poverty because my parents made good decisions financially that got us by from year to year. My Dad was a Carpenter and an Alaskan Troller during the summer months. I grew up with zero extras, black and white TV as an adolescent, very few toys (no Barbies), nothing that would have been considered "frivolous", so I was far from privileged.

I realize that some of the population reading this may find it is easier to believe that "White Privilege" and "Institutional Racism" is sewn into the very fabric of our American economic and political culture; then there are others, like me, that will agree to disagree.

This young lady was very wise to do her research and now to speak to truth! Skin color doesn't matter. "I have turned my back on the idea of victimization mentality." Kanye West gets it — and he's one of many Black Americans who have left the Left!
