Rub a dub dub, they scrub change.gov

Obama and Biden believe that middle and high school children should be "required" to engage in community service for 50 hours annually during the school year or summer months.” - Obama’s National Service Plan Fact Sheet “Obama and Biden will set a goal that all middle and high school students do 50 hours of community service a year.”

Now thats what change.gov originally said but within days that page along with others were srubbed and the word "required" was gone.

Community service is great and I don't have a problem with school children being encouraged to do volunteer work - quite the contrary.

But their is a huge difference between “encouragement” as opposed to the Federal Government being coercive. If Obama has his way, I have no doubt that participation will be mandatory, even for homeschoolers. When I read this section of the website, before it was scrubbed, it brought to mind the “Uncle Ho Youth” going about planting trees while chanting communist slogans.

Obama's speech this past Saturday had a frighteningly similar "blame the people" tone as Carter's speech. While Obama still emphasizes the failures of Washington he also blames Americans for how they live their lives.
"We can't drive our SUVs and, you know, eat as much as we want and keep our homes on, you know, 72 degrees at all times, whether we're living in the desert or we're living in the tundra, and then just expect every other country is going to say OK, you know, you guys go ahead keep on using 25 percent of the world's energy, even though you only account for 3 percent of the population, and we'll be fine," Obama said.

So, Obama has plans for your children. Do read the National Service Plan Fact Sheet.

On another note Obama intends to increase the size of the Army by 65,000 troops, and the Marines by 27,000. He says “America needs a leader who can inspire today’s youth to serve our nation”. So, let’s get this straight. Obama’s going to pull our forces out of Iraq and, at the same time, increase the size of our military forces (why?) by the power of his personal charisma. I sent an email to a friend with the website link to the Iraq page, and since the Iraq page no longer exist, here's what my email said; The highlighted areas are verbatim words from the Iraq page.

what I wrote after reading the Iraq Page

Is Obama preparing for something … something he’s not telling us, you really have to ask yourself?

Thanks to the folks over at the Wake Up America blog for their continued analysis of the campaigns in general and, specifically, for highlighting the video below that contrasts Obama's pre-surge position with a more recent interview of David Axelrod, his chief campaign strategist, denying Obama's statements.
